Utopia Travel
Mobile videotheque
Ten cities on the road from Cairo to Vienna
Concept: Emanuel Danesch and David Rych

The program consisting of one short film and eight videos was a part of Utopia Travel a mobile videotheque, conceived by Emanuel Danesch and David Rych. The two Austrian artists collaborated with curators from ten cities to select the works which they presented later during a three months tour in all the participating cities in Africa, Asia and Europe: Cairo, Beirut- Istanbul – Sofia – Skopje – Belgrade – Sarajevo – Zagreb – Ljubljana – Vienna.

Travelling in an old Mercedes and equipped with basic video devices, they were presenting films and videos on public events or privately in a car. The selected works featured a collective and personal identity and transformations of codes and meanings.
